On the drive up the coast, we stopped off in a small side street to collect firewood. Using a small saw, the boys chopped up a fallen tree, and very carefully picked the best of the wood for a fire.
Pulling up before the gates, we hopped out of the utes and let the air out of the tyres before cruising along the beach to find the perfect spot.
As we bumped across the sand, we drove past a few clusters of 4 wheel drive’s with fishing rods and fires out in full swing.
With the moon literally shining down on the sand, we came to a clearing of sand dunes.
Setting up my deck chair, I kick back and watch the boys as they set up camp. With heavy heads, I predict we will awake in the morning.
For now, that is all.
