Digging Up Old Boots (Thanks Ma)

Instead of spending $300+ on a decent pair of hiking boots, Mum offered to lend me her old Timberlands. Ahead of the numerous camping destinations my boyfriend and I have been planning, these boots will come in awfully handy.

Mums old hiking boots

But where have Mildo’s old hiking boots been?

Mum bought these Timberlands roughly fifteen years ago when the McGrath’s were travelling around the United States and Canada in a mini van.

Not a photo of our actual Chevy Astra, but here's a picture of what it was like.

On this particular trip, Mum, Nan, Pop, Aunty Marg, Dad, my sister Lauren and myself were piled into a Chevy Astra driving across the states. My sister got bitten by a squirrel and was told she had rabies, I cried when Goofy sang Happy Birthday to my sister in Disneyland and Mum somehow managed to keep these boots in tact after taking them through the waters of the Zion National Park, the arches of monument valley, and through the woods in Canadian forests.

I’m hoping I can get a bit more milage out of these before they’re well and truly done for.
